How to grade your proposal before sending

  1. 1

    Paste your proposal

Drop in the full proposal text — executive summary, scope, timeline, pricing, terms. The more complete the input, the sharper the scoring.

  2. 2

    Click Score

The AI reads the full proposal and scores it against four dimensions a senior proposal editor would evaluate: specificity, completeness, persuasion, and professionalism.

  3. 3

    Review the verdict

READY_TO_SEND means 80+, ALMOST_THERE means 60-79, NEEDS_WORK means below 60. The verdict reason explains why in one sentence.

  4. 4

    Fix the weakest dimension first

The 4 dimension scores show where to focus. Specificity below 12 means the proposal is too generic. Professionalism below 12 means too much AI-sounding filler. Completeness below 12 means missing scope/timeline/pricing elements.

  5. 5

    Apply the specific fixes

Each suggestion includes the part of the proposal to change and the exact action. Apply them one by one, then re-score to see the improvement.

What the four dimensions measure

Each dimension is scored 0-25. Total is 0-100. Here's what each one tracks and how to improve it.

Specificity

Low:Reads like any agency could have sent it
High:Every section references a unique client detail
Fix:Add 2-3 client-specific facts per section — their metrics, competitors, deadlines, goals

Completeness

Low:Missing scope boundaries, timeline, or pricing
High:All 6 elements present with specific detail
Fix:Add explicit exclusions, itemized deliverables, week-level timeline, line-item pricing

Persuasion

Low:Fill-in-the-blank template feel
High:A CMO would forward with "we should go with these guys"
Fix:Reframe the client problem, add opinionated recommendations with reasoning, address objections

Professionalism

Low:AI filler phrases, monotone sentence rhythm
High:Reads like a senior consultant wrote it personally
Fix:Remove "leverage", "cutting-edge", "holistic" — mix short punchy sentences with detailed ones

Frequently asked questions

What makes a good proposal score?
Scores of 80+ are ready to send. 60-79 are almost there — a few targeted fixes will push them into ready territory. Below 60 means significant revision is needed before the client sees it. Most first-draft proposals score 55-70.
What are the four scoring dimensions?
Specificity (how client-specific the language is — generic templates score low), Completeness (does it cover scope, timeline, pricing, exclusions, next steps), Persuasion (does it make a compelling case that differentiates from competitors), and Professionalism (varied sentence rhythm, confident tone, clean formatting, no AI-sounding filler phrases).
Why did my proposal score low on specificity?
Specificity measures how many unique client details appear in the proposal — their company name, industry, specific metrics, goals, competitors, timeline, budget. A proposal that could swap the client name and still work for any other client scores low. Add 2-3 concrete client details per section to raise this score.
What AI-sounding phrases should I avoid?
"Leverage" (as a verb), "cutting-edge", "seamlessly", "holistic approach", "robust", "comprehensive", "innovative solutions", "best-in-class", "utilize" (use "use"), "streamline", "game-changing", "empower", "elevate". Each of these triggers professionalism deductions in the scoring. Replace with specific verbs ("use", "apply", "build").
How does this tool work?
The tool uses Anthropic's Claude Haiku model with a purpose-built scoring rubric refined from analyzing thousands of agency proposals. It evaluates four dimensions with specific calibration anchors and returns structured feedback. The same scoring engine powers the in-app strength meter inside Wintura.
Is my proposal data saved?
No. Your proposal is sent to Anthropic to generate the scoring, then discarded. Wintura does not store your input or results. We never share it with third parties.
How many times can I score proposals for free?
Up to 5 proposals per hour per IP address. For unlimited scoring plus full proposal generation, sign up for Wintura — the free tier includes 3 complete proposals per month and in-app scoring.
